Now hiring Customs Entry Writer
Location Itasca, IL
Pay Rate: $26.00 – $30.00 per hour
Shift: 8 am – 5 pm

These are the qualifications that matter.
- High school diploma or equivalent required (trade or supply chain education preferred)
- Minimum 1 year of customs entry writing experience
- 5 years of experience in customs operations or customs brokerage
- Working knowledge of HTS classification and U.S. Customs regulations (19 CFR)
- Familiarity with Partner Government Agency (PGA) requirements and international trade compliance
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel
- Experience with CargoWise preferred
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple shipments and deadlines simultaneously

Responsibilities
- Prepare and process customs entries for air and ocean shipments, managing the full clearance lifecycle
- Secure release of shipments through U.S. Customs and applicable government agencies
- Monitor clearance status and proactively resolve delays, holds, or examinations
- File Importer Security Filings (ISF) accurately and follow through to completion
- Review Bills of Lading, commercial invoices, and shipping documents for accuracy and compliance
- Classify imported goods using the Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTSUS) and client SOPs
- Ensure compliance with all applicable regulatory agencies and trade regulations
- Communicate with clients, internal departments, and agencies regarding documentation and clearance issues
- Provide backup support to team members and assist with departmental operations
- Maintain organized records and support a collaborative team environment
