We are seeking a dedicated Circulation Assistant to support daily library operations and deliver exceptional service to patrons of all ages.

Pay: $11.00 per hour
Schedule: Hours and shifts will vary

What You’ll Do Each Day
• Perform circulation desk duties, including assisting with opening and closing procedures.
• Assist patrons in locating books and materials using the electronic catalog and other library equipment.
• Provide basic technology support, including computer and printing troubleshooting.
• Shelve materials and maintain orderly, clean stacks throughout the library.
• Advise patrons of new materials, programs, and library services.
• Catalog and maintain magazines and other materials.
• Create promotional materials such as bookmarks and program flyers.
• Assist with story times, book clubs, crafting events, holiday displays, and other library programs.
• Help prepare monthly calendars of events for library branches.
• Visit local schools, churches, and businesses to share promotional materials and market library services.
• Straighten shelves and assist with general organization and upkeep.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
What You’ll Need to Succeed
Minimum Requirements
• High school diploma or GED.
• Familiarity with computers, e-readers/tablets, and basic internet navigation.
• Ability to use Microsoft Office Suite and Publisher.
• Strong customer service and interpersonal communication skills.
• Ability to prioritize tasks, stay organized, and work independently.
• Ability to perform repetitive physical tasks such as shelving and lifting materials.
• Ability to sit and stand throughout the shift.
• Ability to lift up to 10 lbs frequently, 25 lbs regularly, and 50 lbs occasionally.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree.
- Previous customer service or library experience.
- At least 1 year of related experience.
