The Challenges
Operating under a Master Vendor model with two primary and 30 secondary suppliers, a leading medical equipment company faced significant operational challenges. Key issues included an inefficient supplier network that couldn’t keep pace with demands, disjointed billing and payroll processes leading to administrative bottlenecks, poor communication resulting in unsatisfactory job order fulfillment, and a lack of formal performance metrics for contingent workers, which negatively impacted conversion rates.

Integrated existing vendors into a Managed Service Provider (MSP) program, including niche suppliers
to fill gaps in supplier capabilities.
Implemented a Vendor Management System (VMS)
with robust performance evaluation protocols to continuously assess workforce quality and productivity.
Introduced a unified invoicing system and a streamlined requisition process to reduce administrative friction.
Established on-site suppliers at high-volume work sites to ensure immediate response and resource allocation.
