Steel Assistant Manager

Job Description:



Exciting direct hire opportunity! Staffmark is looking for a Steel Assistant Manager to join an automotive parts manufacturer in South Charleston, OH. If you’re experienced in manufacturing and leading teams, this could be your next big career move!

 

Salary: $55K – $65K

 

Shift: 2nd shift, 3:00 PM – 11:00 PM

 

This role is crucial for achieving organizational goals by supervising staff, managing workflow, and ensuring the production of high-quality automobile part components.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Monitor and adjust workflow, processing variables, and equipment to maintain optimal production.
  • Identify and implement cost reductions while fostering a cooperative team environment.
  • Analyze operating practices and revise systems to improve efficiency and meet goals.
  • Supervise and coach staff, set job expectations, and enforce policies and procedures.
  • Collaborate with Team Leaders to ensure key responsibilities are met, including communication, training, and performance.
  • Address production issues, revise schedules, and ensure team leaders stay focused on top priorities.
  • Evaluate and coordinate equipment maintenance, identifying needs for improvements or repairs.
  • Ensure a safe, clean working environment and promote a culture of safety.
  • Guide and train Team Leaders and assist with personnel management.
  • Investigate and resolve employee issues and recommend corrective actions.
  • Stay current on industry best practices and promote continuous process improvements.

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree, or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred.
  • 3-5 years of experience managing teams in a high-volume production or manufacturing environment.
  • Experience in a non-union environment is highly preferred.
  • Strong understanding of machining and assembly processes.
  • Excellent interpersonal and leadership skills, with experience in coaching, counseling, and managing employee performance.
  • Ability to track budgets and manage financial planning within a production setting.
