Job Duties

• Move containers and trailers safely throughout the yard
• Back trailers into and out of dock doors
• Position equipment accurately for loading and unloading
• Follow all site traffic and safety procedures
• Wear required safety vest and steel-toed shoes

• DOT Medical Card
• FMCSA Clearinghouse registered and clear MVR
• No more than 3 moving violations/at-fault accidents (within the past 3 years)
• No DUI, reckless driving, or serious violations (within the past 5 years)
• 6 months of yard jockey experience required within the past 3 years.
• Non-CDL but will accept CDL B and CDL A

What You Will Do

As a Non-CDL Yard Hostler you will safely operate vehicles to transport goods, materials, or equipment while following established routes, schedules, and safety regulations. You will perform vehicle inspections, maintain required documentation, communicate with dispatch or customers as needed, and help ensure deliveries are completed safely, accurately, and on time while maintaining a professional appearance and commitment to customer service.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to sit for extended periods while safely operating a vehicle.
• Ability to enter and exit vehicles frequently throughout the workday.
• Ability to lift, move, or secure freight and materials when required by the assignment.
• Ability to perform vehicle inspections and work safely in varying weather and road conditions.

Preferred Experience

• Previous professional driving, delivery, transportation, or logistics experience is preferred.
• Experience operating commercial vehicles, delivery trucks, box trucks, or tractor-trailers is beneficial depending on the assignment.
• Familiarity with electronic logging devices (ELDs), GPS navigation, routing software, or transportation documentation is considered an asset.
• Individuals who demonstrate dependability, professionalism, and a commitment to safety are well positioned for success as a Non-CDL Yard Hostler.
