Pay Rate: $25.00 – $27.00 per hour
Schedule: 1st Shift | Monday – Friday | 6 AM – 2:30 PM | 2nd Monday-Friday 2pm-10:30pm 3rd Monday-Friday 10pm-6:30am

This role is responsible for installing, inspecting, testing, troubleshooting, and repairing fire/life safety systems in accordance with manufacturer specifications and NFPA standards. The technician will service multiple fire alarm system manufacturers, maintain water-based suppression systems, complete accurate NFPA test reports, interpret technical drawings and manuals, train maintenance staff on system operation, and provide professional support to customers. This position is covered by the Service Contract Act (SCA).

Education Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED preferred unless otherwise specified.
  • Additional education, certifications, or vocational training may be beneficial depending on the position.

Experience Requirements
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in healthcare facilities
  • Minimum 3+ years of experience installing, testing, and servicing low-voltage systems, including fire/life safety systems
  • NICET Level II certification required in the applicable fire protection discipline
  • NEBB or AABC Certification required
  • Preferred knowledge of Simplex fire alarm products and Windows-based programs
  • Knowledge of NFPA standards and codes
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, specifications, and technical manuals
Job Duties
  • Install, inspect, test, troubleshoot, and repair fire alarm and life safety systems
  • Service and maintain fire alarm systems from multiple manufacturers
  • Inspect, maintain, and test fire alarm equipment and water-based suppression systems
  • Complete NFPA inspection and testing reports and document system deficiencies
  • Perform monthly testing of electric fire pumps and suppression system components
  • Support compliance activities related to NFPA, Joint Commission (TJC), and healthcare facility requirements
  • Train maintenance staff on fire alarm system operation and basic maintenance
  • Provide professional customer support and technical assistance
Physical Capabilities
  • Work in mechanical rooms, facilities, and indoor/outdoor environments
  • Use testing equipment and hand tools safely and effectively
  • Stand, walk, climb, bend, and lift as needed throughout the workday
  • Ability to inspect and troubleshoot electrical and fire protection systems
