We are seeking a caring, dependable, and motivated individual to join our High School Program as a Job Skills/Work Readiness Instructor. In this rewarding role, you will work directly with high school students with disabilities, helping them develop the skills, confidence, and workplace readiness needed for future employment success.
Job Duties
- Teach and reinforce workplace readiness and employability skills.
- Provide guidance and support to students in developing job-seeking and workplace behaviors.
- Assist students with communication, teamwork, problem-solving, and professional skills.
- Help students explore career interests and employment opportunities.
- Support students in building confidence, independence, and self-advocacy skills.
- Maintain positive relationships with students, families, school staff, and community partners.
- Document student progress and complete required program records.
Education Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate’s or bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Additional education, certifications, or vocational training may be beneficial depending on the position.
Experience Requirements
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions accurately.
- Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Commitment to quality, safety, professionalism, and dependable attendance.
- Ability to learn new processes, procedures, equipment, or software as required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a related industry or similar position is preferred.
- Experience working in fast-paced, customer-focused, manufacturing, warehouse, administrative, or professional environments is beneficial depending on the assignment.
- Relevant certifications, technical training, or specialized skills are considered an asset.
- Individuals who demonstrate adaptability, professionalism, strong work ethic, and a willingness to learn are well positioned for success as an Instructor.
- Experience working with individuals with disabilities, youth, or in education, workforce development, or related fields preferred.
