Now hiring for a Mail Sorter
Location: Grand Prairie, TX
Pay Rate: $17.50 – $18.50 per hour
Schedule: Tuesday – Saturday, 12:30 AM – 8:30 AM

This is a fast-paced and physically demanding position where accuracy and attention to detail are critical. Mail Sorters play an essential role in processing, organizing, and preparing outgoing mail and packages to ensure timely and accurate delivery.

Job Duties

  • Sort mail pieces known as flats using both machines and manual methods
  • Prepare outgoing permit and metered mail by reviewing date, postage, and barcode accuracy before production
  • Identify and communicate errors, including poor-quality or incorrect barcodes
  • Troubleshoot and remove mail jams from sorting machines
  • Match zip code labels and bin numbers to tray numbers
  • Follow QMS (Quality Management System) practices to verify accuracy of weight, date, barcode, postage rate, and other critical details
  • Stack, label, and palletize sorted mail according to guidelines
  • Monitor and ensure all equipment is functioning properly during mail preparation
  • Assist with inbound and outbound mail/package processing
  • Stay aware of truck departure schedules and acceptance cut-off times
  • Ensure all mail and packages meet Service Level Agreements (SLAs)

Education Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Previous manufacturing or production training is beneficial.

Experience Requirements

  • Ability to work safely in manufacturing and production environments.
  • Ability to follow written work instructions, production procedures, and quality standards.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to maintain productivity and consistent quality.
  • Mechanical aptitude and the ability to safely operate basic production equipment when required.
  • Dependable attendance, teamwork, and a commitment to workplace safety.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous manufacturing, assembly, production, warehouse, or industrial experience is preferred.
  • Experience operating production equipment, performing quality inspections, or meeting production goals is beneficial.
  • Knowledge of Lean manufacturing, continuous improvement practices, or workplace safety procedures is considered an asset.
  • Individuals who demonstrate reliability, adaptability, teamwork, and a strong work ethic are well positioned for success as a Mail Sorter.

Physical Capabilities

  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, and perform repetitive production tasks throughout the shift.
  • Ability to lift materials, components, or finished products weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to safely operate around production equipment and moving machinery.
  • Ability to maintain productivity while working in fast-paced manufacturing environments.

What You Will Do
