Location: Monroe, LA
Pay Rate: $30.00 – $45.00 per hour
Schedule: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM

Education Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required.
  • CPA certification is a plus but not required.
  • Strong understanding of GAAP and accounting principles.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and accounting software.

Experience Requirements

  • 2+ years of accounting experience preferred.
  • Public accounting or CPA firm experience is highly desirable.
  • Experience preparing individual, business, partnership, and non-profit tax returns.
  • Experience with financial statement preparation, account reconciliations, and general ledger accounting.
  • Experience with bookkeeping, payroll processing, and tax compliance activities.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with QuickBooks, Lacerte Tax Software, CCH ProSystem fx, and CS Workpapers.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to manage multiple client engagements and deadlines simultaneously.
  • Strong client service, communication, and relationship-building skills.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.

Physical Capabilities

  • Ability to sit and work at a computer for extended periods.
  • Ability to use standard office equipment, including computers, printers, and telephones.
  • Ability to occasionally lift and move files, records, and office materials.

Job Duties

  • Prepare individual, corporate, partnership, non-profit, and other tax returns accurately and timely.
  • Assist with financial statement preparation, compilations, reviews, and audit engagements.
  • Perform general ledger accounting, account reconciliations, and month-end reporting activities.
  • Prepare adjusting journal entries, workpapers, and supporting schedules.
  • Maintain accurate financial records and accounting documentation for multiple clients.
  • Provide bookkeeping, payroll processing, and payroll tax support services.
  • Prepare and file sales tax returns, payroll tax filings, W-2s, and 1099s.
  • Research accounting and tax issues and analyze financial data to support client needs.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations as well as accounting standards.
  • Communicate professionally with clients regarding financial information, tax matters, and service requests.
  • Collaborate with team members on client projects and special assignments.
  • Deliver exceptional client service in a fast-paced public accounting environment.
