Education Requirements- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Ability to read simple instructions and enter information into a computer.
- Willingness to learn eye care procedures and medical office tasks.
- On-the-job training provided.
- Ability to follow office policies and safety guidelines.
- Friendly attitude and willingness to work as part of a team.
- Experience as a medical assistant technician.
- Experience with electronic health records (EHR) is a plus.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to work closely with patients, doctors, and staff.
- Good attention to detail when entering patient information and reports.
- Reliable, organized, and able to work in a fast-paced eye care clinic.
- Ability to stand, walk, and move between exam rooms throughout the day.
- Ability to assist patients and support doctors during exams and testing.
- Use a computer for documentation, patient records, and reports.
- Perform repetitive typing and data entry tasks.
- Ability to maintain a clean and sterile work environment.
- Strong attention to detail while performing testing and documentation duties.
- Provide direct patient care in a busy ophthalmology (eye care) clinic.
- Perform basic eye testing, vision screenings, and collect patient medical history.
- Assist doctors during eye exams and enter chart notes into the electronic health record (EHR) system.
- Set up and monitor visual field tests to help evaluate peripheral vision.
- Prepare exam rooms with needed supplies, medications, forms, and educational materials.
- Coordinate testing, assist with surgical scheduling needs, type operative reports, and help maintain a safe, clean, and sterile environment.
