Location: Broussard, LA
Pay Rate: $20.00 – $23.00 per hour
Schedule: 8 AM – 2 PM | Monday – Friday (30 hours a week)

Requirements
  • Minimum of 2 years of payroll processing experience.
  • Strong knowledge of payroll regulations, tax deductions, garnishments, and employee benefits.
  • Experience with payroll systems and accounting software.
  • Ability to maintain confidential employee and payroll information.
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to research and resolve payroll discrepancies.
  • Experience with 401(k) administration and benefits deductions preferred.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple deadlines.
Job Duties
  • Process bi-weekly payroll for hourly and salaried employees.
  • Calculate employee wages, deductions, and payroll adjustments accurately.
  • Enter and classify payroll journal entries into accounting software.
  • Track employee work locations and ensure wages are allocated correctly.
  • Process 401(k) contributions and company matching contributions.
  • Administer employee garnishments and submit payments to the appropriate agencies.
  • Calculate and maintain insurance deductions based on eligibility and effective dates.
  • Research employee time records and payroll classifications as needed.
  • Prepare payroll reports related to earnings, taxes, deductions, leave, disability, and non-taxable wages.
  • Maintain employee status changes and payroll documentation.
  • Provide payroll records, earnings statements, and payroll-related support to employees.
  • Investigate and resolve payroll issues promptly and professionally.
  • Update payroll records for changes in benefits, exemptions, and deductions.
  • Reconcile and maintain payroll-related balance sheet accounts.
  • Assist the Human Resources team with payroll and administrative support as needed.

What You Will Do

As a Payroll and HR Clerk you will support recruiting, onboarding, employee records, benefits administration, policy communication, personnel documentation, HR reporting, employee inquiries, and other human resources activities. You will maintain confidential information, coordinate with employees and managers, and help ensure HR processes are completed accurately, professionally, and in compliance with company policies.

The Payroll and HR Clerk supports successful human resources operations through dependable employee support, accurate documentation, and effective communication. This role requires professionalism, organization, and the ability to manage sensitive information responsibly.
