Wabtec Now hiring Mechanical Assembler (Direct Hire)
Fort Worth, TX
Pay Rate: $27.61 per hour
Schedules Available:

  • 1st Shift: Monday-Thursday, 5:00 AM – 3:30 PM
  • 2nd Shift: Monday-Thursday, 3:15 PM – 1:45 AM

Join Wabtec and be part of a team that builds critical locomotive and mining equipment used around the world. As an Assembler, you’ll work with a variety of mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic components while helping produce high-quality equipment in a collaborative manufacturing environment.

Requirements
  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent required
  • Minimum 1 year of experience using electrical and/or pneumatic hand tools
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and manufacturing instructions
  • Basic mechanical aptitude and assembly experience preferred
Job Duties
  • Assemble locomotive and mining equipment components
  • Install wiring harnesses and associated electrical components
  • Install and connect piping, tubing, and plumbing systems
  • Perform sub-assembly and final assembly operations
  • Complete basic welding and tack welding tasks as required
  • Assist with paint and finishing processes
  • Move materials and components throughout the production area
  • Operate hand, electric, and pneumatic tools safely
  • Inspect completed work to ensure quality standards are met
  • Follow manufacturing specifications and work instructions
  • Collaborate with team members to improve manufacturing processes
  • Support a safe, efficient, and organized work environment
Physical Capabilities
  • Lift and move materials weighing up to 40 pounds
  • Work at heights up to 20 feet when required
  • Climb ladders and work from elevated platforms
  • Stand, bend, reach, and perform repetitive tasks throughout the shift
  • Wear required PPE including safety glasses, gloves, hearing protection, hard hats, and safety shoes
  • Work in an industrial manufacturing environment while maintaining safe work practices

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous factory, manufacturing, production, assembly, or warehouse experience is preferred.
  • Experience working on production lines or assembling mechanical, electrical, or consumer products is beneficial.
  • Knowledge of quality inspection, Lean manufacturing, or continuous improvement practices is considered an asset.
  • Individuals who demonstrate reliability, adaptability, teamwork, and attention to detail are well positioned for success as a Mechanical Assembler.

What You Will Do

As a Mechanical Assembler you will assemble products or components, verify materials, inspect completed work, operate basic production tools, package finished items, and support daily manufacturing goals. You will follow work instructions, maintain organized work areas, identify quality concerns, and contribute to safe, accurate, and efficient factory operations.

A Mechanical Assembler supports manufacturing by assembling components, inspecting finished work, and helping products move through the production process. This role combines physical activity with organization and attention to detail while maintaining established quality standards.

The Mechanical Assembler works with production tools, assembly instructions, materials, and quality procedures while helping maintain efficient factory workflows. Reliability contributes directly to successful production.
