Location: Putnam, CT
$65,000.00 per year
Looking for Accountant jobs in Putnam where financial expertise helps organizations succeed? This opportunity lets you analyze financial information, maintain accurate accounting records, and support sound business decisions through reliable financial reporting and compliance.
Education Requirements- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting required
- CPA certification not required
- Company support available for employees interested in pursuing CPA certification in the future
- 2-3 years of accounting experience required
- Manufacturing accounting experience is a plus
- Internship or co-op experience in accounting, manufacturing, or operations finance is preferred
- Perform monthly close activities
- Prepare and post journal entries
- Complete account reconciliations
- Assist with financial reporting and analysis
- Maintain accurate financial records and documentation
- Support accounting and finance team initiatives
- Ensure compliance with company accounting procedures and policies
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in accounting, financial analysis, auditing, budgeting, or corporate finance is preferred.
- Experience with ERP systems, QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, or similar accounting software is beneficial.
- Knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, tax preparation, compliance, or internal controls is considered an asset.
- Individuals who demonstrate professionalism, analytical thinking, accuracy, and strong organizational skills are well positioned for success as a Accountant.
Physical Capabilities
- Ability to remain seated and work at a computer for extended periods.
- Ability to review detailed financial documents and perform accurate data analysis.
- Ability to occasionally lift office materials weighing up to 25 pounds.
- Ability to perform normal office duties while maintaining productivity and attention to detail throughout the workday.

What You Will DoAs a Accountant you will prepare and analyze financial reports, maintain general ledger accounts, reconcile financial records, support budgeting activities, monitor financial transactions, assist with audits, ensure compliance with accounting standards, prepare journal entries, and help provide accurate financial information that supports business operations and strategic decision-making.
