Looking for Shop Foreman jobs in West Monroe where you can lead from the floor and keep production moving? Lead daily shop operations, coordinate hydraulic repairs and fabrication projects, oversee technicians and mechanics, maintain safety and quality standards, and ensure projects are completed efficiently and on schedule.
The Shop Foreman is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the hydraulic repair and fabrication shop. This role supervises technicians, welders, mechanics, and shop personnel while ensuring projects are completed safely, efficiently, and to quality standards. The Shop Foreman serves as the primary point of coordination between customers, technicians, sales staff, and management.
Education Requirements- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Technical training in hydraulics, mechanical systems, welding, or industrial maintenance is a plus
- 5+ years of hydraulic, industrial maintenance, welding, mechanical, or heavy equipment repair experience
- Previous leadership or supervisory experience required
- Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills
- Ability to read hydraulic schematics and technical drawings
- Proficiency with shop equipment and tools
- Experience with hydraulic cylinders, pumps, motors, valves, and fluid power systems preferred
- Welding and fabrication experience preferred
- Industrial maintenance background preferred
- CDL preferred but not required
- Supervise daily shop operations, assign work orders, and ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, and on schedule
- Lead, train, and mentor technicians, welders, mechanics, and shop personnel while promoting teamwork and accountability
- Coordinate hydraulic repairs, fabrication projects, equipment rebuilds, and complex troubleshooting activities
- Review customer requirements, evaluate incoming repair jobs, and provide technical support for estimates and project planning
- Monitor quality standards by inspecting completed work and ensuring customer expectations are met
- Communicate project updates with customers, sales staff, management, and field service teams
- Enforce safety policies, conduct shop inspections, and maintain a clean, organized work environment
- Oversee shop equipment, inventory needs, maintenance activities, and continuous improvement initiatives
- Lift up to 50 pounds
- Stand, walk, bend, and climb throughout the workday
- Work in both indoor and outdoor environments
- Tolerate exposure to industrial equipment, noise, grease, and varying weather conditions

As a Shop Foreman you will lead daily production operations, assign work, coordinate staffing, monitor workflow, coach employees, and keep the shift moving without cutting corners on safety or quality. You will track production goals and performance, lead pre-shift meetings, troubleshoot operational problems, coordinate with maintenance, quality, warehouse, and leadership teams, maintain production records and shift reports, support employee training, and create a respectful workplace built around teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement.
A Shop Foreman brings leadership directly onto the manufacturing floor, where schedules become real work and production goals depend on people performing together.
