Job Duties

  • Build, maintain, repair, and modify progressive and compound dies used in high-precision metal stamping processes.
  • Grind, fit, assemble, and adjust tooling components to exact specifications and tight tolerances.
  • Diagnose and resolve tooling issues to minimize downtime and maximize production performance.
  • Collaborate with engineers, machine operators, and fellow toolmakers to improve tooling reliability and manufacturing efficiency.
  • Support the development and launch of new tooling while implementing continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Perform preventive maintenance and tooling upgrades to increase uptime, quality, and overall equipment effectiveness (OEE).

Education Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required; technical school certification, apprenticeship, or formal training in tool and die making, machining, manufacturing technology, or precision metalworking preferred.
  • Ongoing training in tooling, die maintenance, and manufacturing best practices is a plus.

Experience Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Tool & Die Maker in a manufacturing environment, with expertise in high-speed progressive dies, compound dies, and metal stamping operations.
  • Strong skills in surface grinding, precision measuring, tool fitting, die assembly, and die repair.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, tooling layouts, and technical specifications.
  • Demonstrated troubleshooting and problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Dependable, detail-oriented, and committed to quality, safety, and production efficiency.

Physical Capabilities

  • Ability to lift, carry, and move materials, tooling components, and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Capable of standing, bending, stooping, reaching, and performing repetitive tasks throughout the workday.
  • Ability to work safely around manufacturing equipment and machinery in a production environment.

What You Will Do
