Hours: 6:00 AM –
3:00 PM OR 2:00 PM – 11:00 PM (Fixed shifts; occasional short-term
flexibility required for coverage or training)

FLSA: Exempt,
Direct-Hire, Full-Time

 

Overview

A leading food manufacturer is
seeking an experienced and highly motivated Production Supervisor to oversee
daily production operations at its plant in the North Houston area. Reporting
directly to the Plant Manager and Production Manager, this role is responsible
for supervising production activities, ensuring compliance with food safety and
quality standards, and enforcing company policies while working collaboratively
across departments to achieve operational goals.

The ideal candidate will have at
least five years of experience in food manufacturing, including supervisory
experience in a production environment. Spanish language skills are required to
effectively manage shop-floor staff, support team members, and drive
operational excellence.

 

Essential Duties and
Responsibilities Include (but are not limited to):

  • Demonstrate
    strong knowledge of food manufacturing operations, production processes,
    quality systems, regulatory requirements, and food safety standards.
  • Supervise
    daily production activities to ensure safety, quality, productivity, and
    efficiency goals are consistently achieved.
  • Maintain
    a safe and sanitary work environment by ensuring current work instructions
    and production procedures are followed.
  • Ensure
    all production processes comply with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs),
    Sanitation Standard Operating Procedures (SSOPs), Good Manufacturing
    Practices (GMPs), HACCP, FSMA, and applicable food safety requirements.
  • Monitor
    production performance, identify process deviations, conduct root cause
    analysis, and implement corrective actions for continuous improvement.
  • Coordinate
    with Quality Assurance, Maintenance, Warehouse, and other departments to
    ensure smooth operations and timely issue resolution.
  • Train,
    coach, and develop production employees on equipment operation, food
    safety, sanitation, quality standards, and workplace safety.
  • Support
    employee development by providing ongoing coaching and performance
    feedback to build a high-performing team.
  • Promote
    effective communication between shifts and across departments to ensure
    seamless handoffs and operational continuity.
  • Foster
    a culture of safety, accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement
    throughout the production team.

 

Qualifications:

  • Minimum
    of 5 years of experience in food manufacturing, including supervisory or
    production leadership experience.
  • Spanish
    language proficiency required to effectively manage shop-floor staff and
    production operations.
  • Strong
    knowledge of GMPs, FSMA, HACCP, and food safety and quality management
    systems.
  • Experience
    with Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, Six Sigma, or Total Productive
    Maintenance (TPM) is preferred.
  • Proven
    ability to lead, motivate, coach, and develop production employees in a
    fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Strong
    problem-solving, organizational, and decision-making skills with the
    ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Adaptable
    and flexible mindset, with willingness to provide short-term shift
    coverage when necessary (e.g., call-outs or training).
  • Proficiency
    in Microsoft Office and experience with ERP or manufacturing systems is
    preferred.
