Job Duties
- Assemble bus door panels and component kits using blueprints, BOMs, and standard work instructions.
- Install roller brackets, hinges, seals, hardware, glass windows, sensors, handles, and other door components.
- Operate hand tools, electric tools, and pneumatic equipment to complete production assemblies.
- Measure, cut, and install rubber seals, sensitive edges, wiring, and related components according to specifications.
- Perform quality checks to ensure products meet customer and manufacturing standards.
- Apply touch-up paint, adhesives, and caulking as required during final assembly.
- Maintain a safe, organized work area while meeting production schedules and quality expectations.
- Support additional manufacturing and production tasks as assigned with appropriate training.
Education Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, bills of materials (BOMs), process standard sheets (PSS), and work instructions.
- Basic math and measuring skills preferred.
Experience Requirements
- Previous manufacturing, assembly, production, or warehouse experience preferred.
- Experience using hand tools, pneumatic tools, and power tools is a plus.
- Ability to learn complex assembly processes, product configurations, and quality standards.
- Typically requires up to one year to achieve full proficiency in all job-related responsibilities.
Physical Capabilities
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, and perform repetitive tasks throughout the shift.
- Capable of handling, positioning, and assembling large door panel components.
- Manual dexterity required for using hand tools, installing hardware, and completing detailed assembly work.
- Ability to lift, move, and manipulate materials in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Must be able to meet drug screening and fitness-for-duty requirements, where applicable.
