Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or a related field preferred
- At least three years of accounting experience
- Construction or engineering accounting experience preferred
- Strong knowledge of job-cost accounting
- Experience preparing and reviewing work-in-progress schedules
- Knowledge of AIA billing processes
- Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel
- Experience with Sage, Procore, Foundations, Viewpoint, or similar construction software is a plus
- Understanding of GAAP and internal accounting controls
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent attention to detail and financial accuracy
- Effective communication and collaboration skills
- Ability to take initiative and manage multiple priorities
Job Duties
- Monitor and manage project budgets, forecasts, and cost reports
- Track project expenses and prepare monthly job-cost reports
- Process subcontractor invoices
- Review and process change orders and progress billings
- Collaborate with project managers on budget revisions
- Prepare and update cost-to-complete estimates
- Set up new projects in the accounting system
- Enter project billing terms, cost codes, and related information
- Manage project accounts receivable
- Follow up on outstanding customer payments
- Prepare and analyze project-specific financial statements
- Support the monthly close process
- Perform budget-to-actual and other variance analyses
- Ensure compliance with GAAP, internal controls, and industry regulations
- Maintain accurate documentation for audits and contractual requirements
