CNC Machine Operator Education Requirements- High school diploma or GED required.
- Technical school, machining certificate, or CNC programming education preferred.
- Operating CNC machines safely and efficiently, loading/unloading parts, and ensuring finished products meet specifications
- Reading and following blueprints and manufacturing orders to maintain precision standards
- Performing quality inspections using calipers, micrometers, and other precision tools
- Supporting the machine shop with deburring, tumbling, packing, assembly, punching, and bending tasks
- Performing basic machine maintenance, including cleaning chips and monitoring coolant levels
- Following 5S, Quick Response Manufacturing (QRM), and safety initiatives
- Troubleshooting machine errors and variances and recommending process improvements
- Cross-training on multiple machines to develop versatile skills
- Communicating effectively with supervisors and team members to achieve production goals
CNC Machine Operator Experience Requirements
- Experience operating, setting up, or programming CNC machine tools.
- Ability to read blueprints, engineering drawings, and technical specifications.
- Knowledge of precision measuring instruments including calipers, micrometers, indicators, and gauges.
- Understanding of machining principles, tooling, feeds, speeds, and material properties.
- Strong attention to detail, mathematical ability, and commitment to quality workmanship.
CNC Machine Operator Physical Capabilities
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and work around machining equipment throughout the shift.
- Ability to lift materials, tooling, and components weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Manual dexterity to safely operate CNC machinery and precision measuring equipment.
- Ability to work safely around moving machinery while following established safety procedures.
