Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Self-motivated with a strong willingness to learn
• Good computer skills, including Microsoft Windows, Word, and Excel
• Previous estimating software experience preferred
• Typing speed of at least 25 WPM
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
• Excellent attendance and punctuality
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced manufacturing environment

Job Duties

• Learn to analyze blueprints, specifications, parts lists, and customer documentation to determine manufacturing requirements
• Assist in preparing accurate cost and time estimates for manufactured parts
• Consult with outside suppliers and compile request-for-quote (RFQ) information
• Prepare estimates to support planning, scheduling, bidding, and make-versus-buy decisions
• Produce timely, accurate, and complete estimates
• Develop an understanding of competitive manufacturing methods and industry best practices
• Recommend process improvements to increase efficiency and reduce costs
• Collaborate with engineering, production, and management teams
• Perform additional duties as assigned by the area lead or management
