Job Description:
Now hiring an Assistant Web Press Operator
Location: Chanhassen, MN
Pay Rate: $19.00 – $30.00 per hour
Shifts: 12-Hour Rotating Shifts | Day Shift: 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM | Night Shift: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
Rotating Schedule: Week 1: Monday, Tuesday, Friday, Saturday | Week 2: Sunday, Wednesday, Thursday
- High school diploma or GED required.
Assistant Web Press Operator Experience Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years of general knowledge of offset printing press procedures and materials.
- Experience operating or assisting with web offset, sheet-fed offset, flexographic, corrugated, Mylar, or similar printing equipment is preferred.
- Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to learn complex printing equipment.
- Ability to read and interpret job specifications and production instructions.
- Experience using hand tools, measuring devices, and basic mechanical equipment.
- Ability to safely perform routine equipment maintenance and adjustments.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality printed products.
- Assist with setup, operation, and maintenance of web offset printing presses.
- Prepare presses for production by installing plates, blankets, packing sheets, and related components.
- Adjust feeders, delivery systems, guides, rollers, and press mechanisms.
- Assist with color matching, print registration, and quality adjustments.
- Clean printing blankets, rollers, ink fountains, and press components.
- Support routine maintenance and minor equipment repairs.
- Read job specifications and prepare materials for production runs.
- Monitor print quality throughout production and report equipment issues.
- Follow all safety procedures and maintain a clean work area.
- Work closely with senior Press Operators to ensure efficient production.
Assistant Web Press Operator Physical Capabilities
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, reach, and twist throughout a 12-hour shift.
- Ability to regularly lift, carry, push, and pull production materials and equipment.
- Manual dexterity to safely operate hand tools, power tools, and printing equipment.
- Ability to perform repetitive hand and arm movements.
- Ability to distinguish colors and identify print quality variations.
- Ability to work safely around moving mechanical equipment while wearing required personal protective equipment.
