What It Takes to Run With the Pros

• High school diploma or GED required
• Minimum 2 years of machining or related manufacturing experience
• Experience operating manual lathes and mills required
• 4-jaw chuck experience preferred
• Strong understanding of machining techniques, tooling, and materials
• Ability to inspect parts and maintain accurate documentation
• Experience in process control or valve repair environments is a plus
• Strong problem-solving, communication, and attention-to-detail skills

What’s Expected 

• Set up and operate manual lathes, mills, and other shop equipment
• Machine new parts from bar stock, castings, or rough materials according to engineering drawings
• Perform touch-up machining and repair work while maintaining critical dimensions
• Conduct dimensional and visual inspections and complete inspection reports
• Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications
• Use shop math, including trigonometry, to support machining operations
• Select appropriate cutting tools, machining speeds, feeds, and coolant applications
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment
• Follow all company safety, quality, and operational procedures
