Job Description:
Inventory Control Specialist
Location: Galesburg, IL
Schedule: Wednesday–Saturday | 7:00 AM – 5:30 PM
Pay: $26/hour
Join a high-performing team supporting locomotive fleet operations through expert inventory control and supply chain management. As an Inventory Control Specialist, you will ensure critical materials are available to keep operations running efficiently and on schedule.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and order materials across multiple sites to meet production and maintenance schedules
- Monitor inventory levels and proactively address shortages or critical material constraints
- Coordinate with supply chain teams and suppliers to track orders and resolve delivery issues
- Process sales orders and troubleshoot system errors to ensure accurate order flow
- Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies, including lost shipments, overages, and missing materials
- Partner with internal teams and third-party vendors to maintain accurate inventory data
- Support special projects, including indirect purchasing and logistics coordination
- Communicate material risks and provide solutions to complex inventory challenges
Qualifications:
- Experience in inventory control, logistics, or supply chain operations
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
- Ability to work cross-functionally and communicate effectively at all levels
- Experience with ERP systems (Oracle preferred)
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift materials as needed
- Experience operating warehouse equipment such as forklifts or pallet jacks
- Willingness to wear required PPE in an industrial environment
