What You’ll Do

• Safely operate a Class A flatbed truck to deliver steel, plate, structural steel, and related materials.
• Perform local deliveries while maintaining on-time service and professionalism.
• Secure freight using chains and straps in accordance with DOT regulations.
• Tarp loads from October through March and during other weather-related conditions as needed.
• Complete pre-trip and post-trip inspections.
• Maintain accurate delivery and transportation documentation.
• Follow all company safety policies and DOT regulations.
• Provide excellent customer service at delivery locations.

Experience Requirements

• Minimum 1 year of CDL driving experience within the last 3 years.
• At least 9 months of recent tractor-trailer flatbed experience within the last 3 years.
• Experience securing loads using chains and straps.
• Strong knowledge of DOT regulations and safe driving practices.
• Ability to maintain a clear MVR and meet all DOT compliance requirements.
• No DUI, reckless driving, or serious driving violations within the past 5 years.

Driving Requirements

• Valid Class A CDL required.
• Current DOT Medical Card required.
• FMCSA Clearinghouse registration required.
• Must be at least 22 years old.
• Ability to operate an automatic transmission Class A flatbed truck.
• Local driving route with home daily schedule.
• Monday-Friday schedule with start times between 4:00 AM and 5:00 AM.
• Overtime available after 40 hours worked.

What You Will Do

As a Class A Local Flatbed Driver you will safely operate vehicles to transport goods, materials, or equipment while following established routes, schedules, and safety regulations. You will perform vehicle inspections, maintain required documentation, communicate with dispatch or customers as needed, and help ensure deliveries are completed safely, accurately, and on time while maintaining a professional appearance and commitment to customer service.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to sit for extended periods while safely operating a vehicle.
• Ability to enter and exit vehicles frequently throughout the workday.
• Ability to lift, move, or secure freight and materials when required by the assignment.
• Ability to perform vehicle inspections and work safely in varying weather and road conditions.

Preferred Experience

• Previous professional driving, delivery, transportation, or logistics experience is preferred.
• Experience operating commercial vehicles, delivery trucks, box trucks, or tractor-trailers is beneficial depending on the assignment.
• Familiarity with electronic logging devices (ELDs), GPS navigation, routing software, or transportation documentation is considered an asset.
