Education Requirements
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Technical school, vocational training, or industrial maintenance certification preferred.
Experience Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of experience in maintenance, automation, manufacturing, or automated distribution environments
- Experience troubleshooting mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems
- CMMS experience preferred
- Ability to read and interpret schematics, technical manuals, and equipment documentation
- Troubleshoot, maintain, and repair automated mailing and distribution equipment
- Diagnose mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and automation system issues
- Perform preventive maintenance to maximize equipment uptime and reliability
- Inspect equipment, tools, and work areas to maintain safety standards
- Partner with engineers, vendors, and operations teams to resolve equipment concerns
- Train operators on machine operation and basic maintenance procedures
- Assist with automation projects and continuous improvement initiatives
- Support Automation Helpdesk requests and escalations
- Prepare maintenance reports and participate in technical meetings
- Update equipment manuals, maintenance records, and operating procedures
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in manufacturing, industrial maintenance, facilities maintenance, or a related technical environment is preferred.
- Experience performing preventative maintenance programs and responding to equipment breakdowns is beneficial.
- Knowledge of PLCs, electrical controls, hydraulics, pneumatics, welding, or fabrication is considered an asset.
- Individuals who demonstrate strong troubleshooting abilities, teamwork, and a commitment to continuous improvement are well positioned for success as a Automation Technician.
Physical Capabilities
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, climb, kneel, and work in a variety of industrial environments throughout the shift.
- Ability to lift equipment, tools, and replacement parts weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to safely work around moving machinery while following established safety procedures.
- Manual dexterity to operate tools, perform repairs, and inspect equipment.

What You Will Do
As a Automation Technician you will inspect, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain equipment, machinery, and facility systems to support safe and efficient operations. You will perform preventative maintenance, diagnose equipment issues, replace worn components, document completed work, and work closely with production and operations teams to minimize downtime while maintaining quality and safety standards.
