Job Duties

• Grind, sand, deburr, and polish metal parts using hand grinders, belt sanders, buffers, and other finishing equipment.
• Remove sharp edges, weld splatter, burrs, and surface imperfections from fabricated components.
• Inspect finished parts to ensure they meet quality and dimensional specifications.
• Read and interpret work orders, blueprints, and production instructions.
• Maintain proper surface finishes in preparation for painting, powder coating, or assembly.
• Safely operate grinders, polishers, and other hand and power tools.
• Perform routine maintenance on tools and equipment and report any mechanical issues.

Education Requirements

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Previous manufacturing or production training is beneficial.

Experience Requirements

• Ability to work safely in manufacturing and production environments.
• Ability to follow written work instructions, production procedures, and quality standards.
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to maintain productivity and consistent quality.
• Mechanical aptitude and the ability to safely operate basic production equipment when required.
• Dependable attendance, teamwork, and a commitment to workplace safety.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous manufacturing, assembly, production, warehouse, or industrial experience is preferred.
• Experience operating production equipment, performing quality inspections, or meeting production goals is beneficial.
• Knowledge of Lean manufacturing, continuous improvement practices, or workplace safety procedures is considered an asset.
• Individuals who demonstrate reliability, adaptability, teamwork, and a strong work ethic are well positioned for success as a Polisher Grinder.
• Previous experience in metal grinding, polishing, deburring, or metal fabrication preferred.
• Experience using hand grinders, pneumatic tools, belt sanders, and polishing equipment.
• Ability to read tape measures and basic manufacturing drawings.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Physical Capabilities

• Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, and perform repetitive production tasks throughout the shift.
• Ability to lift materials, components, or finished products weighing up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to safely operate around production equipment and moving machinery.
• Ability to maintain productivity while working in fast-paced manufacturing environments.
• Ability to stand, bend, and walk for extended periods.
• Frequently lift and move up to pounds.
• Ability to perform repetitive hand and arm movements.
• Comfortable working in a manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, dust, and metal particles.
• Must wear required personal protective equipment (PPE), including safety glasses, hearing protection, gloves, and steel-toe boots.
