Required Skills & Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- 5–10 years of welding experience in industrial or manufacturing settings
- Proficient in welding techniques, fluxes, rods, and weld shrinkage management
- Ability to read blueprints, technical manuals, and welding symbols
- Knowledge of metal properties, machining, and welding safety standards
- Strong mechanical ability and attention to detail
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Welding certification preferred or required
Key Responsibilities
- Weld various metals using SMAW, GMAW, FCAW, and GTAW processes
- Check and prepare pipe or structural pieces for welding, accounting for shrinkage
- Repair castings, gouges, leaks, and other components
- Operate welding and gas equipment safely, including acetylene and electrical setups
- Assist pipe fitters with pipe installation, preparation, and fabrication
- Read and interpret blueprints, technical manuals, and welding symbols
- Inspect completed work to ensure compliance with government and company standards
- Perform minor equipment repairs and maintain welding tools and gas equipment

What You Will DoAs a Master Welder you will prepare materials, set up welding equipment, perform MIG welding operations, inspect completed welds, read blueprints, verify measurements, and help fabricate metal components according to engineering specifications. You will maintain welding equipment, follow quality standards, and support safe, efficient manufacturing operations while producing consistent, high-quality work.
A Master Welder supports fabrication operations through skilled MIG welding, accurate material preparation, and quality-focused workmanship. This role requires technical ability, precision, and a strong commitment to workplace safety.
The Master Welder works with fabrication equipment, welding tools, and engineering drawings to manufacture durable metal components while maintaining established quality standards. Dependable performance contributes directly to production success.
