Congratulations on being selected to work at Tekni-Plex!

Staffmark and Tekni-Plex have a strategic relationship, known as an Onsite Program. This relationship provides us the opportunity to work more closely with our employees on assignment, as well as with our customers. We are counting on you to represent us well! Remember that you are an employee of Staffmark and should comply with policies and procedures of both Staffmark and Tekni-Plex.

It is important to remember that all personnel issues, questions and/or concerns must be discussed directly and promptly with your Staffmark Onsite Manager. We are here to support and assist you with anything you need.

How to Check-In

Orientation Information

Orientation will take place on-site at Tekni-Plex. We will review the attendance policy (CANNOT MISS ANY DAYS IN YOUR 1st TWO (2) WEEKS), Dress Code, Personnel Hygiene GMP Policy, and the shift calendar. You will need to complete your urine screening prior to starting. On your first day, the Supervisor will give a tour of the facility and emergency exit training.

Employee Policies

Time Clock + Pay

Time Clock Procedures

You will clock in and out on the clock at Tekni-Plex. Your supervisor will show you on your first day. If you miss a punch in or out – contact your Supervisor and Staffmark immediately so it can be fixed prior to your pay day.

Pay Rates

Contact your Staffmark Representative for Pay Rate. 

Pay Schedule
  • Paydays are every Friday.
  • Pay period is from Monday to Sunday and is paid the following Friday.
  • The 2 BEST ways to receive your pay check:
    • Direct Deposit
    • Skylight Pay Card

Attendance & Shifts

**Cannot miss ANY days in your 1st two (2) weeks or your assignment will be ended**

Unscheduled Absence: any unscheduled full day absence, other than those designated as “Approved Leave” below.

Tardy: any unscheduled late arrival to work starting at 1 minute late.
Leave Early: any unscheduled departure from work.

No Call/No Show: failure to notify Management of an absence following established call in procedures. If no notification is made prior to the end of an employee’s scheduled shift, the absence will be considered a “no call/no show”.

Scheduled Shift: regularly scheduled shift including overtime (both voluntary and mandatory)

Lack of Work: any situation where Management has determined there is not enough work for an employee for the remainder of his/her shift.

 

Point Assignments

  • Unscheduled Tardy/Leave Early – more than 1 less than 60 minutes = ½ point
  • Unscheduled Tardy/Leave Early – Greater than 60 minutes = 1 point
  • Unscheduled Absence = 2 points
  • Unscheduled tardy/Leave Early –
  • Work less than half of shift = 2 points
  • Unscheduled Tardy/Leave Early – Work more than half of shift = 1 point
  • No Call No Show = 5 points

 

Disciplinary for New Hires in the first 90 days:

  • 4 points = Verbal
  • 6 points = Final Written Warning
  • 8 points = Termination
REquesting time off / Incase you are late or absent

Attendance is very important. It affects your teammates, morale and your chances of full time hire. It is important not to miss work unless absolutely necessary. The attendance policy in your first 2 weeks is crucial and your assignment will be ended if you miss during your first 2 weeks. This is your time to shine and prove why you should be hired full time!

  • If you need to miss work you can submit a request to your Supervisor and to Staffmark.
  • If you have to call or or be late Call Tekni-Plex at 800-418-3118 AND Call or text Staffmark 567-242-5111.

Lunch / Other Policies

Lunch / BREAKS

Breaks: 15 mins every 2 hours
Lunch: 30 minute 

*CANNOT leave the property or go to your car at lunch. Breaks must be taken in the breakroom. There ARE designated smoking areas available as well.

Dress Code

To ensure a safe and efficient working environment, the following Dress Policy shall be effective
for all production employees (including general production employees) effective January 1, 2024:

To ensure Safety Compliance, the following guidelines shall be followed:

  • Steel Toed Shoes – Maintenance employees are required to wear steel toed shoes.
  • Safety Glasses – All Production employees are required to wear Safety glasses on the production floor. If
    you wear prescription glasses, you must wear safety goggles over them unless you have authorized
    prescription safety glasses.
  • Jewelry – Production employees may not wear any jewelry, except a plain wedding band.
  • Hair – Shoulder length or longer hair must be pulled back in a bun or pinned up. Long pony tails are not
    permitted.
  • Clothing –Casual shirts, dress shirts, sweaters/sweatshirts (no string). Sleeveless acceptable. Cut-offs
    are PROHIBITED. Long sleeves must be buttoned at the wrist or rolled up midway between the wrist
    and elbow. Pants that are loose and not belted are not permitted. Shorts are permitted but must be at
    fingertip length. Closed toe and closed heel shoes required. Slip resistant preferred.


Inappropriate dress shall also be prohibited.
Although it is difficult to list all types of clothing that may be deemed inappropriate in the workplace, some
examples include:

  • Revealing type clothing, such as midriff-baring tops, tube tops, halter tops, low rise pants or jeans,
    and/or clothing that exposes undergarments. No cleavage should be showing at any time.
  • Mini-skirts, sundresses, beach dresses, bathing suit cover-ups, and spaghetti strap dresses
  • Clothing with obscene pictures, foul language, non-professional slogans/phrases.
  • Clothing that is significantly dirty and/or torn.
  • Clothing that is see-through, overly tight or overly baggy.
  • Jeans with holes, cutouts, or fringes or Sweatpants.
  • Shirts with cut-off sleeves, holes or tears.
  • No flip-flops, slippers, clogs, sandals, and any shoe with open toe or heel.
  • No clothing that has been altered by hand. Cut-off shirts/shorts.
