Join Staffmark and our partner company as a Part-Time Youth Services Assistant in Walhalla, SC! This role offers an exciting opportunity to support the daily operations of the Youth Services department at the library, providing paraprofessional library duties and helping to shape engaging youth programs. As part of a collaborative team, you’ll gain valuable experience in library operations and community outreach.

Pay: $10 per hour

Shift: Part-time, 22.5 – 25 hours per week. Must be available until 6 PM on weekdays (with occasional later hours, rarely) and some Saturdays from 9 AM – 1 PM. The library operates from 9 AM to 6 PM.

Essential Job Duties:

• Assist with youth and parent services in the library and at off-site events.
• Plan and present programs for children, teens, and special-interest groups.
• Manage library materials, including selecting and weeding books.
• Provide readers’ advisory and reference services.
• Promote library services through community outreach and presentations.
• Help plan and provide outreach to local schools and organizations.
• Create promotional materials and displays for library programs.
• Compile reports and maintain library equipment.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Ability to connect with children, teens, and families.
• Knowledge of current youth services trends and library operations.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• Comfortable speaking in front of large groups.
• Flexibility to work evenings and weekends.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• 1+ year of related experience, especially in teaching or child-focused roles.
• Bachelor’s degree preferred.
