Full-Time | Monday–Friday, 8 AM–5 PM
Salary: $75,000–$85,000 (Based on experience)
Position Summary:
As a Microbiologist, you’ll serve as a scientific resource for cross-functional teams including Quality, Product Development, and Operations. Your responsibilities will range from performing microbiological testing and leading environmental monitoring programs to conducting risk assessments and supporting product launches. You’ll also train personnel and contribute to continuous improvement in food safety processes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Inspect, sample, and conduct microbiological testing on raw materials, in-process items, and finished products.
- Submit and summarize internal and third-party test results.
- Lead Environmental Monitoring Programs (EMP); train staff on GMPs and sanitation protocols.
- Conduct challenge studies, shelf-life assessments, and risk analyses.
- Troubleshoot and resolve microbiological and quality concerns.
- Review and update lab methods and microbiological policies.
- Support new product launches from a microbiological perspective.
- Develop and deliver training sessions on food safety topics and testing methods.
- Collaborate with teams to support operational changes and ensure compliance with regulatory and customer expectations.
- Promote a culture of food safety and continuous improvement.

Qualifications:
- B.S. in Microbiology or Food Microbiology with 3+ years of experience in the food or beverage industry, or M.S./Ph.D. with 2+ years.
- Strong understanding of food microbiology, spoilage organisms, pathogens, and laboratory practices.
- Hands-on experience with thermal processing, chilled systems, and high-acid/low-acid product safety.
- Proficient in data analysis, technical documentation, and regulatory compliance.
- Excellent project management, critical thinking, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
