Job Title: Production Supervisor
Location: North Houston Area
Hours: 2nd Shift, 2:00pm start
FLSA: Exempt, Direct-Hire, Full-Time
OVERVIEW: A growing food manufacturer in the North Houston Area is seeking an experienced Production Supervisor. Reporting to the Production Manager and Plant Manager, this role oversees facility operations, ensures Food Safety programs, and enforces plant policies through proactive cooperation with other groups and facilities. Qualified candidate should have 5 years of experience in food manufacturing floor with a supervisor experience. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT NOT ARE LIMITED TO: Demonstrate proficiency in unit operations, process capabilities, quality assurance, regulatory affairs, planning, and food safety. Ensure all processes adhere to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Sanitation Standard Operating Procedures (SSOPs), and other relevant documentation. Maintain a safe work environment by ensuring updated work instructions are available for all positions and that safety standards are strictly followed. Ensure adequate distribution of skills within the team to enable effective achievement of the production plan. Develop and implement action plans to address root causes of failures and support continuous improvement initiatives. Ensure quality objectives are met through adherence to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), sanitation audits, food safety checks, and product quality assessments. Review all new product formulations, process techniques, and packaging to ensure compliance with regulatory guidelines. Ensure the team possesses the necessary skills to achieve production goals efficiently, providing comprehensive training in equipment usage, safety procedures, and hygiene practices. Oversee the timely deployment of the People Development Plan, ensuring team competencies align with company goals. Facilitate seamless communication and handoffs of key information to peers, team members, and Production Management. QUALIFICATIONS: Minimum of 5 years of experience in food manufacturing floor with supervisor experience. Bilingual Spanish and English Experience and knowledge of GMP’s, HACCP, FDA, FSMA, and USDA. Experience with Lean manufacturing or Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) preferred. Proven ability to lead, manage, motivate, and develop production staff members.
