Salary: $80,000 – $90,000 per year
Shift: 1st shift, Monday – Friday
As the Environmental Health and Safety Specialist, you will be responsible for executing and maintaining the company’s health and safety programs, ensuring compliance with OSHA, industry standards, and state regulations. You’ll collaborate with various teams to manage safety initiatives and lead continuous improvements to create a safe and healthy work environment for all employees.
Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and manage safety programs such as Accident Prevention Plans (APP), Injury and Illness Prevention Programs (IIPP), and Emergency Disaster Preparedness.
- Collaborate with HR, Operations, and other departments to ensure a safe work environment and regulatory compliance.
- Coordinate forklift certification and safety training for employees and contractors.
- Conduct safety inspections, maintain safety equipment, and ensure compliance with safety policies.
- Investigate incidents, identify root causes, and implement preventive actions.
- Administer Workers’ Compensation claims in collaboration with HR.
- Lead the Safety Committee to enhance safety awareness and improvements.
- Manage safety communication and maintain PPE and safety supplies inventory.
- Conduct emergency drills and implement safety incentive programs.
- Oversee security systems and issue badges for employees and visitors.
Qualifications:
- 6+ years of EHS experience in a logistics/warehouse environment
- Bachelor’s degree in Safety Management or related field preferred (or equivalent experience)
- 3+ years of supervisory experience
- OSHA 30-hour certification a plus
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) required
- Ability to travel up to 25% to various facilities
- Strong communication and presentation skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and surveillance camera software
- Ability to remain composed under pressure and handle sensitive situations with diplomacy
