Salary: $85,000 – $95,000 per year
Essential Functions:
- Provides effective safety and environmental programs and recommends changes as appropriate.
- Directs accident investigation programs, develops accident trends, and coordinates programs for improving performance.
- Creates, reviews, and updates safety and environmental policies and procedures.
- Facilitates inspections and audits as required to ensure compliance with applicable regulations.
- Manages permits, records, data, and reports according to federal, state, and local laws.
- Educates, trains, and provides support for new hires and other personnel on safety, health, and environmental programs.
- Serves as a primary contact for EHS regulatory agencies for inspections, permitting, reporting, and maintains compliance.
- Manages the hazard assessment process and provides solutions to prevent future hazards.
- Provides communication between management levels regarding acknowledgment of problem analysis and corrective action.
- Develops plant emergency plans and procedures and coordinates practice exercises in preparation for emergency responses.

Qualifications:
- A bachelor’s degree in an Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) field.
- 3+ years of related experience (preferred).
- Familiarity with a variety of EHS concepts, practices, and procedures including knowledge of applicable Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), Department of Transportation (DOT), Department of Labor (DOL), environmental laws, and other EHS laws recommended.
- Working knowledge of word processing and integrated software applications.
- Excellent attention to detail, communication, and organizational skills.
- Bilingual (Spanish/English) preferred.
- Ability to perform physical activities (sit, stand, climb, bend, stoop, twist, reach) and lift 50 pounds.
