Research and Development Assistant – Join a leader in the beverage industry!
Staffmark is hiring a Research and Development Assistant for a trusted supplier of tea, coffee, and extract ingredients in Lincoln, RI. This is an exciting opportunity to work with an innovative R&D team, helping to develop new beverage products.
Pay Rate: $25.00 per hour
Part-time Schedule: Tuesday & Thursday: 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM | Wednesday: 4-hour flexible shift
Key Responsibilities
Laboratory Operations:
- Prepare and analyze product samples following established protocols.
- Conduct basic laboratory tests (pH, TDS, sensory analysis).
- Maintain accurate data records in laboratory notebooks.
- Calibrate and maintain lab equipment.
- Manage inventory of lab supplies, ingredients, and raw materials.
Product Development Support:
- Assist in developing new beverage formulations.
- Prepare experimental batches for testing.
- Conduct sensory evaluations and document tasting notes.
- Collaborate with the R&D team to analyze results and adjust formulations.
Quality Assurance:
- Ensure adherence to GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) and food safety regulations.
- Perform quality control checks throughout the R&D process.
- Conduct basic quality analysis to confirm compliance with specifications.
Administrative Tasks:
- Maintain detailed documentation and research reports.
- Organize and manage sample libraries.
- Assist with data entry and analysis.
- Coordinate with other departments for seamless project execution.

Required Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Chemistry, Biology, or a related field.
- 3-4 years of experience in food science or beverage product development.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Familiarity with food safety regulations and GMP practices.
