Job Description:
Staffmark is excited to offer an excellent opportunity for an experienced Grinder Operator in Santa Ana, CA, at a leading metal finishing facility. In this temp-to-hire role, you will be responsible for setting up and operating grinding machines to shape, sharpen, smooth, or finish metal parts, tools, or components, while ensuring all safety and quality standards are met. Pay: $20-$25 per hour
Schedule: 2nd Shift | 3:00 PM – 1:30 AM, Monday – Friday
As a Grinder Operator, you will set up and operate various grinding machines such as surface grinders, cylindrical grinders, or tool grinders. You will inspect and measure parts using precision tools like micrometers and calipers to ensure they meet specifications, while maintaining and adjusting machine settings for optimal performance and product quality. You’ll follow strict safety procedures, maintain a clean and organized workspace, and perform routine maintenance on machines to ensure their proper functioning. Troubleshooting machine or part issues, collaborating with supervisors and engineers to resolve production challenges, and keeping detailed records of work performed are also key aspects of the role.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent (additional technical training may be required for some positions)
- Experience operating grinding machines, preferably in a manufacturing environment
- Knowledge of machine tool operation and the ability to read technical drawings and blueprints
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow safety and quality procedures
- Proficiency in using precision measuring tools (micrometers, calipers, etc.)
- Problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or within a team
