Job Description:
Title: Japanese Bilingual Project Coordinator (Japanese Food Trade)
Location: Downtown Los Angeles, CA (Hybrid: 3 days in office/ 2 days remote per week, subject to change)
Working Conditions: Currently telecommuting twice a week, but this may change in the future. Occasional outings and business trips may be required.
FLSA: Non-Exempt, Full-Time
Working Hours: Monday – Friday, 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Expected overtime: approximately 30-40 hours per month (may vary depending on the season)
Overview: The organization dedicated to promoting the import and distribution of high-quality Japanese food and agricultural products within the United States is looking for a detail-oriented Japanese bilingual professional to join. They strive to connect Japanese producers with U.S. distributors and end-users, fostering mutually beneficial partnerships and expanding the market for authentic Japanese cuisine. The Project Coordinator plays a crucial role in supporting the organization’s mission by effectively managing projects, coordinating activities, and providing administrative support. This position requires strong organizational and communication skills, attention to detail, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities Include but not are Limited to:
Project Management: • Manage and track project timelines, deliverables, and budgets. • Coordinate and facilitate project meetings with stakeholders (e.g., Japanese producers, U.S. distributors, government officials). • Develop and maintain project plans, reports, and presentations.
Partnership Development: • Support the identification and development of partnerships between Japanese producers and U.S. distributors. • Conduct market research and competitor analysis to identify potential partners and market opportunities. • Coordinate and support networking events, trade shows, and other industry events.
Administrative Support: • Manage contracts, agreements, and other legal documents related to partnerships. • Respond to inquiries from stakeholders in a timely and professional manner. • Provide administrative support to the team, including scheduling, travel arrangements, and expense reports.
Marketing & Communications Support: • Assist in the development and distribution of marketing materials, including press releases, newsletters, social media content, and website updates. • Maintain accurate records and databases of contacts and project information. • Act as the initial point of contact for stakeholders, addressing their inquiries promptly and professionally while effectively communicating and escalating complex issues to relevant team members or supervisors.
Internal Operations: • Create and maintain internal documents and procedures. • Assist with accounting and financial reporting as needed. • Perform additional tasks and special projects as assigned by the supervisor.
Qualifications: • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, International Relations, or a related field. • 5+ years of experience in project coordination, administrative support, or a related field. • Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines. • Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills. • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and CRM software, including Excel formulas. • Experience in the food industry or international trade is a plus. • Fluent in Japanese and English (reading, writing, speaking including keigo) • Possess interest in Japanese food products, trades, and/or marketing and promotion. • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally as required.
Pay range minimum: $ 24.39
The base pay range above represents the low and high end of the base compensation range we reasonably expect to pay for this position. Actual base compensation will vary and may be above or below the range based on a range of factors including, but not limited to, geographic location, actual experience, and job performance.
