Job Title: Accounting Associate – Japanese Conversational
Department: Accounting
Category: Non-Exempt, Full-Time Employee
Location: Torrance, CA (Onsite)
Work Hours: 9a – 6p
Reports to: Accounting Manager
Summary: The Accounting Associate will play a vital role in supporting the smooth and accurate functioning of the accounting department. This position will primarily focus on assisting with accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general accounting duties, ensuring the integrity of financial records.
Key Responsibilities: Accounts Payable: • Receive, review, and verify incoming invoices for accuracy and proper approvals. • Process invoices for payment through various methods (e.g., ACH, check, credit card). • Maintain accurate vendor records and resolve any discrepancies. • Assist with the reconciliation of vendor statements. • Monitor and track accounts payable aging reports. • Assist in the preparation and processing of payments.
Accounts Receivable: • Review and process customer invoices, ensuring accuracy and timely issuance. • Monitor customer account balances and identify any outstanding debts. • Assist with customer collections efforts, including contacting customers and working with collections agencies. • Prepare and analyze customer aging reports. • Assist with credit applications and customer credit checks.
General Accounting: • Assist with month-end closing procedures, including journal entries, reconciliations, and accruals. • Prepare and maintain various accounting reports and schedules. • Assist with the maintenance of fixed asset records. • Support other accounting functions as needed, including data entry, filing, and record-keeping.
Administrative Support: • Respond to inquiries from internal and external parties regarding accounting matters. • Maintain accurate and organized accounting records and files. • Assist with other administrative tasks as assigned.
Qualifications: • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance, or equivalent combination of education and experience. • Minimum 1-2 years of experience in an accounting or finance role. • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook and PowerPoint and other accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite). • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills. • Strong attention to detail and accuracy. • Ability to work independently and as part of a team. • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills in both English and Japanese (conversational fluency).
Pay range minimum: $ 40,000.00
Pay range maximum: $ 45,000.00
The base pay range above represents the low and high end of the base compensation range we reasonably expect to pay for this position. Actual base compensation will vary and may be above or below the range based on a range of factors including, but not limited to, geographic location, actual experience, and job performance.
