Pay Rate: $25.00 per hour
Shift: Monday to Friday, 9:00 am to 5:30 pm
As a Gateway Procurement Specialist, you will play a crucial role in coordinating customer shipments by securing buy rates and capacity with qualified carriers and partners. Working within our West Coast Gateway team, you will manage transport activities by executing bookings through our carrier partners and utilizing our CBAIR booking platform. Your responsibilities will include data entry, documentation generation, and collaboration with customer care specialists to ensure compliance with air transport regulations and national protocols.
Qualifications:
- Airfreight Knowledge, KN operational systems, adherence to regulatory requirements, knowledge of industry-specific guidelines
- Basic Customer Service, ability to coordinate with suppliers and partners, analytical skills, organizing skills, teamwork, time management, problem-solving
- 2-3 years of freight forwarding experience
- Knowledge of airfreight rules and regulations
- Ability to support both customers and internal stakeholders to ensure service excellence
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities
- Proactive and accountable for results
Responsibilities:
- Manage and perform tasks according to Gateway procurement standards and KPIs
- Prepare and process documentation for air export consolidations
- Drive real-time visibility and accuracy using AirLOG Airfreight 2.0 methodology
- Optimize carrier utilization and cargo consolidations
- Ensure timely processing and delivery to the airport, coordinating closely with warehouse and truck dispatch teams
- Continuously improve departmental efficiency and processes
- Negotiate rates with carriers while maintaining compliance with existing tariffs
- Knowledge of ULD/build-up processes and in-bonds is advantageous
