Staffmark is currently offering a direct hire opportunity for an Electro-Mechanical Technician at a local plastics facility in Winchester, KY.
The role requires working 12-hour shifts on a rotating schedule, following a 2-2-3 pattern, covering both day (7:00 AM – 7:00 PM) and night (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM) shifts.
As an Electro-Mechanical Technician, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the reliability of plant equipment by performing maintenance tasks and minimizing downtime. Your responsibilities will include equipment/process/system maintenance, troubleshooting, repairs, and identifying areas for improvement.
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Prioritizing safety and adhering to safety policies and procedures
- Supplying and maintaining personal tools
- Documenting and performing preventative/predictive maintenance tasks to prevent equipment breakdowns
- Utilizing technical skills to maintain, troubleshoot, and repair equipment promptly
- Understanding overall equipment operation/function and effectively communicating with operations personnel
- Reading and understanding mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical schematics
- Installing, troubleshooting, and repairing AC and DC drives/motors
- Modifying, troubleshooting, and installing PLC programs
- Fabricating and installing various electrical, piping, pneumatic, and mechanical equipment
- Rebuilding various parts/equipment
- Adhering to Category 2 electrical safe work practices standards and utilizing safe work practices and PPE
Qualifications:
You have 2-3 years of industrial maintenance experience and strong hands-on injection molding skills. Knowledge of machine and tool maintenance, robotics, and auxiliary equipment is preferred. You exhibit a proactive attitude, excellent communication, and the ability to work independently or in a team. You’re capable of performing repetitive tasks, including lifting up to 50 lbs, and providing your own tools.
