Job Duties
- Set up and operate metal fabrication machinery to cut, bend, shape, form, and punch metal plates, sheets, tubes, and structural components.
- Read blueprints, work orders, and job specifications to determine machine settings, material requirements, and production processes.
- Position machine stops, guides, and tooling according to measurements, templates, and production specifications.
- Monitor machine performance and make adjustments to ensure product quality and dimensional accuracy.
- Inspect finished parts to verify compliance with customer specifications and manufacturing standards.
- Maintain equipment, follow safety procedures, and keep work areas clean and organized.
- Collaborate with production teams to meet quality, efficiency, and delivery goals.
Education Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED preferred.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, work orders, job specifications, and measurement tools.
- Basic math skills required for material calculations, measurements, and machine setup.
Experience Requirements
- Previous experience in metal fabrication, manufacturing, machine operation, or production environments preferred.
- Experience operating fabrication equipment such as cutoff saws, shears, press brakes, rolls, forming machines, punch presses, and metal spinning machines.
- Knowledge of metalworking processes, machine adjustments, and quality standards.
- Ability to work from specifications, templates, and production schedules to meet manufacturing requirements.
Physical Capabilities
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, twist, and reach throughout the work shift.
- Capable of lifting, moving, and positioning metal materials and fabricated components.
- Manual dexterity required for machine operation, setup, inspections, and material handling.
- Ability to work safely around moving machinery, sharp materials, and industrial equipment.
- Must be able to perform repetitive tasks in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
